Understanding and navigating the Blackboard environment is one of the most important steps to success in an online class.
Blackboard is a learning management system that allows students and faculty members to access course materials, conduct course activities, communicate, and collaborate online. Students in courses that use Blackboard can access those courses anywhere and anytime they can access the World-Wide Web.
Your instructor will let you know whether or not they are using Blackboard as part of their course. Course enrollment is an automated process between the Registrar office and the CUNY department. If you do not see a course for which you believe you are registered, this could mean that your instructor is in the process of creating/updating your course and you will not see the course until the instructor makes it available to students.

Accessing Blackboard just got easier. Starting July 3, 2017, you will use your CUNYfirst login credentials to log in to Blackboard. For example:
Username: CUNYfirst Username@login.cuny.edu
Password: CUNYfirst Password
Plus, the CUNY Login page will prepopulate the username field with “@login.cuny.edu” to simplify your log in.
