REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

I, , must meet the following registration requirements in order to run for office and serve in office:

1. Be a matriculated student in a degree program or credit-bearing certificate program at LaGuardia Community College.
2. Be a student in good standing (i.e. not on academic probation).
3. Carry a minimum of six credits, not including equated credits or contact hours.
4. Not be registered for Intent to Graduate or its equivalent. Be available to serve the 2022-2023 academic year term in office, should they be elected.
5. Attend a Candidate Orientation session scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm via Zoom.

If I fail to meet any of the listed requirements for any reason at any point during my candidacy or term in office, I will immediately become ineligible to run for office or hold office and my seat will become vacant.

REGARDING ACADEMIC RECORD REVIEW

Beginning Friday, September 9, 2022, the College Senate will review my academic records to determine whether I am eligible to run for office. On Friday, September 23, 2022 I will receive an email or phone call from a member of the College Senate that indicates my eligibility to run for office.

CODE OF CONDUCT AGREEMENT

I, , will comply with the most recent revisions of the LaGuardia Community College Elections Code and the "Rules and Regulations for Maintenance of Public Order" (CUNY Manual of General Policy, Article VI, Policy 6.06).

STIPEND & ACTIVE PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

I, , if elected, will actively participate and serve in my elected capacity. I will fulfill all my duties as required, including but not limited to attendance at meetings, training sessions, and committee assignments.

I will receive a stipend of $300 dollars at the end of the academic year. Should I miss three (3) College Senate meetings, I will be disqualified from receiving the stipend and subject to recall. Recall is the disqualification of a senator from serving on the College Senate.

NON-DISCRIMINATION AGREEMENT

I, , will respect and support the rights of all students to participate in all other college activities. This participation shall be without regard to age, race, religion, political affiliation, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

RIGHT TO WITHDRAW AGREEMENT

I, , understand that if at any time, for any reason, I no longer wish to run for office or serve in the capacity I've been elected to, I have the right to withdraw my name for candidacy or to step down from office.
