About

Dr. Jeanne M. Funk is a Professor of Mathematics and Deputy Chair for Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science at LaGuardia. She earned her B.S. in mathematics from Georgia State University in 2005, and her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2012. She has been teaching since 2006, when she started as an Adjunct Lecturer at Bronx Community College. She joined  LaGuardia in 2012 and has found it a rewarding place to teach and learn.

In her time at LaGuardia, Dr. Funk has worked in the areas of developmental math reform, students’ first-year experience, and open educational resources. Currently, she’s exploring accessibility, universal design, and equity in STEM education. She teaches mathematics and first-year seminar, and currently serves as course coordinator for LaGuardia’s Algebra and Trigonometry courses.
