LaGuardia’s Office of Public Safety is staffed by law enforcement professionals licensed by New York State. Our officers provide a safe and secure campus environment by preventing crime, maintaining the peace, and ensuring that all comply with campus safety policies.

College ID

In an effort to enhance safety and security, all students, faculty, and staff are required to wear their college ID cards at all times in order to gain access to open buildings, events and educational programs. Public Safety staff will request such identification as you enter the facilities. If you do not have your college ID, you will be asked to show some form of picture identification. (State ID, IDNYC, Passport, etc.)

ID Office Services

Note: First ID is free. A replacement ID costs $10.

Note: Validation stickers are issued twice a year. Spring (including summer) and Fall (including Winter)

  • If you lost your ID, call or stop by the ID office or Public Safety to check with lost and found.
  • If not found, visit the Bursars office (C110) to pay the replacement fee.
    • College students $10.00
    • High school students $3 (notification letter from high school is required)
    • Parking Lot IDs $20

Note: The office will send a notification via the college email (@live.lagcc.cuny.edu) if the lost IDs are found.

    • New ID: New employees must bring a memo from HR to obtain a new ID.
    • Validate ID: All employees must visit the ID office with their current ID for a validation sticker.
    • Replacement ID: Please visit the ID office.


Note:  The office will send a notification via the college email (@lagcc.cuny.edu) if the lost IDs are found.

Must provide your program receipt or class schedule of the current semester to obtain an ID or to validate an ID.

  • Locker rentals will be from September – August for a fee of $10. (Fall session 1&2 and Spring session 1&2)
  • Lockers are issued only to valid students on the 3rd week of September or thereof. (notices will be posted conspicuously around campus)
  • Lockers are distributed at the ID office, on a first-come first-served basis.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get an ID card if I have a pending tuition balance?

If you are paying out of your pocket, your balance needs to be $0 or less than $250. If it is financial aid, your entire balance has to be in the Pending Financial Aid section on CUNYfirst. – Tuition Payment Policy


How long does it take to get an ID?

If you are registered for the current semester and your tuition is paid, your ID card will be processed at the same time.
 
When can I get my ID if I have classes only on the weekend?
We open, the first day of Saturday class from 10 am – 2 pm.
When will lockers be available?
Lockers will be available on the 3rd week of September. Locker rentals will be from September – August, for a fee of $10. (Fall session 1&2 and Spring session 1&2)

Is there a waiting list for lockers?
Lockers are distributed only on a first-come first-served basis. There is no waiting list.

Where do I have to go to rent a locker?
To rent a locker, please visit the ID office in September (Fall semester).

I cannot scan my ID, what can I do?
Please visit the Library circulation desk to activate your ID card.

Where do I get a valid sticker?
Once you are registered for the current semester and your tuition is paid, visit the ID office to get a validation sticker.

Do I have to renew my sticker every semester?
Stickers are renewed twice a year. Spring (including summer) and Fall (including Winter)
