The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of the campus community. This position supports daily clinical operations at the Student Health Center, provides on-site emergency response for campus incidents, and participates in health promotion and outreach activities. The ideal candidate is a dependable healthcare professional who thrives in a student-centered environment and is committed to providing compassionate, culturally competent care. Responsibilities include:

  • Respond to on-campus medical emergencies and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) care.
  • Assist in daily health center operations, including triage, vitals, documentation, and patient monitoring.
  • Support campus wellness programs, including flu clinics, vaccination events, and student health fairs.
  • Collaborate with nurses, paramedics, physicians, and counselors to support integrated student care.
  • Maintain clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency medical equipment and campus AEDs.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and emergency preparedness drills.

LaGuardia Community College is seeking an Academic Testing Specialist (multiple positions} to assist the Testing Manager in administering the operations of the Testing Office.

In addition to the duties listed below and reporting to the Director of Testing, the Academic Testing Specialist will:

+ Coordinate the administration of initial, retest and exit tests, CUNY field testing and other test administrations;

+ Serve as a backup to the Testing Manager at University Council meetings;

+ Collaborate with Student Financial Services to oversee the Ability to Benefit (ATB) testing for new incoming and continuing students;

+ Assist with Virtual One Stop (VOS) services and enrollment events;

+ Supervision and management of the Testing Office in the manager's absence;

+ Reconcile student records and update student placements in CUNYfirst;

+ Conducts workshops and training to part-time staff and advisement areas on testing placement procedures;

+ Assists with advisement and registration processes;

+ Prepares and reviews student communication materials for Support Enrollment Management departments (Admissions, Registrar, SIC) with enrollment and recruitment of new and transfer students;

+ Oversee in-person and remote proctoring activities;

Reporting to the Finance Specialist, the Finance Accountant will monitor and maintain financial transactions for the LaGuardia Community College Foundation, and its related entities. Ensure that funds are managed in accordance with CUNY Guidelines, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and that year end statements are in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Process cash disbursement transactions within the Financial Edge Accounts Payable sub-module, ensure expenses and accounts payable are reflected accurately to the general ledger;

+ Review requisitions for adequate supporting documentation and process purchase orders;

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

ASSIGNMENT LEVEL

ALL LEVELS A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, including or supplemented by at least eighteen (18) college credits in accounting, and at least six (6) credits in data processing, computer science, banking, economics, statistics, or similar courses.

- Demonstrated English language proficiency, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English well enough to meet minimally acceptable performance standards set for job tasks.

- For work experience requirements (below), CUNY considers full-time work to be 35 hours per week. Part-time experience of at least 20 hours per week may be prorated and credited instead of, but not in addition to, full-time experience during the same period.

- Part-time experience of less than 20 hours per week will not be credited at all.

LEVEL 1: No additional work experience is required.

**GENERAL DUTIES**

**Assignment Level 1, 2 and 3** - Under supervision, performs office or secretarial work in various units, following relevant departmental, College, and University procedures. Typical duties are outlined below:

Documentation and Information

- Types and prints materials such as letters, memoranda, forms, purchase orders and vouchers, using typewriter/word processor/personal computers and all peripheral equipment.

- Proofreads typed material for accuracy, correcting errors as necessary.

- Uses commercial office software packages in typing, data entry, filing, updating files, and preparing various reports.

- Collects information or data from various sources; files and retrieves books, documents and/or data as needed. Updates existing files.

Since being established in 1975, LaGuardia Community College's Program for Deaf Adults (PDA) continues to be a model, urban, post-secondary education and support program that enrolls the largest number of deaf and hard of hearing students in any institution of higher learning in the Greater Metropolitan New York area.
