Founded in 1971 in Long Island City, Queens, LaGuardia Community College is one of seven community colleges of the City University of New York (CUNY). LaGuardia offers more than sixty associate degree programs and more than fifty workforce training, ESOL, GED, and pre-college programs. In 2023, LaGuardia served approximately 24,000 students. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of the campus community. This position supports daily clinical operations at the Student Health Center, provides on-site emergency response for campus incidents, and participates in health promotion and outreach activities. The ideal candidate is a dependable healthcare professional who thrives in a student-centered environment and is committed to providing compassionate, culturally competent care. Responsibilities include:
- Respond to on-campus medical emergencies and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) care.
- Assist in daily health center operations, including triage, vitals, documentation, and patient monitoring.
- Support campus wellness programs, including flu clinics, vaccination events, and student health fairs.
- Collaborate with nurses, paramedics, physicians, and counselors to support integrated student care.
- Maintain clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.
- Inspect and maintain emergency medical equipment and campus AEDs.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and emergency preparedness drills.
- Uphold patient confidentiality, infection control standards, and safety procedures.

The Community Health and Wellness Department at LaGuardia Community College offers four undergraduate degree programs: Human Services: Mental Health, Nutrition and Culinary Management, Public and Community Health, and Therapeutic Recreation. The department is home to a dedicated team of 12 full-time and 17 adjunct faculty, along with one full-time and three adjunct College Laboratory Technicians, as well as technical and expert staff—all committed to equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for success in their professional careers. In addition to rigorous coursework, the department offers a variety of training and certifications to enhance students’ qualifications. Courses are delivered in-person, online, and asynchronously, on occasion. The Public and Community Health major is designed for transfer to 4-year programs in Public Health, Community Health Education, and other health-related nonclinical programs. All program courses feature regular skills-building writing assignments or activities designed to achieve this goal. Additionally, the hired lecturer will be expected to instruct courses for the department, such as The First Year Seminar and Community Health, as well as program-level courses (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology). The Lecturer may also be called upon to serve in leadership roles, such as Program Director, as departmental needs arise.
The successful candidate is expected to perform the following typical work duties:
+ Teach courses in all subject areas within the Public and Community Health Program.
+ Instruct courses for the department, such as the First-Year Seminar and other Interdisciplinary courses.
+ Develop and revise curriculum to align with current public health frameworks, workforce competencies, and student needs, including integration of equity, social justice, and community engagement.
+ Participate in program assessment, including developing and evaluating learning outcomes, collecting and analyzing student performance data, and preparing program review reports.
+ Collaborate with faculty across programs and departments to support interdisciplinary learning and co-curricular initiatives.
+ Engage in departmental and college service, including committee participation, program meetings, and events that support student retention and success and advance the strategic goals of the college.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Policy, Global Health, and/or Health Promotion from an accredited institution.

The Program of Radiologic Technology at LaGuardia Community College seeks to fill two positions at the Lecturer level to teach courses in the Associate Degree Radiologic Technology Degree Program. The successful candidate will have to contribute to curriculum and program development; serve on department, college and university committees; advise and mentor students; and work on other department related projects as needed. Day, evening, weekend.
Other Duties include:
+ Maintain professional certification
+ Actively participate in the Radiologic Science Program Advisory Board Committee
+ Coordinate Student Radiation Safety to include maintaining student monitoring and assisting with keeping radiographic equipment in quality working order
+ Assist with the Development of new clinical affiliations for the clinical practicum sites and maintaining and updating as needed the clinical contracts for all student clinical practicum sites
+ Maintain accurate records for each student enrolled in the didactic, laboratory, and clinical practicum
+ Attend to problems and situations relative to the students education to ensure adequate professional behaviors and clinical experiences
+ Ensure student success through counseling and adherence to program and college polices
+ Provide individual sessions with students to ensure that learning outcomes are met and assist in evaluating the achievement of clinical competencies
+ Assist in creating and coordinating the clinical education schedule in a timely manner
+ Participate in local/state/national affiliate in-service meetings as necessary

Since being established in 1975, LaGuardia Community College's Program for Deaf Adults (PDA) continues to be a model, urban, post-secondary education and support program that enrolls the largest number of deaf and hard of hearing students in any institution of higher learning in the Greater Metropolitan New York area.

The Department of Nursing at LaGuardia Community College seeks to fill three positions at the Assistant Professor level to teach courses in the Associate Degree Registered Nursing Degree Program and Practical Nurse Certificate Program. LaGuardia Community College Adult and Continuing Education Division is seeking a Career and Experiential Learning Associate Director, who will continue to develop and foster relationships with community stakeholders, employer partners, students, faculty, and staff. Utilizing real-time labor market information tools to identify opportunities for placement activities, training initiatives, strategic planning opportunities, grant writing and curriculum development.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of the Career Development Center, and duties will include but not be limited to the following:

The Industrial Design Program at LaGuardia Community College is growing and seeks adjunct industrial design lecturers to support and maintain this growth in studio practices, workshop and modelmaking techniques, C.A.D, C.A.M and digital prototyping. This relatively new industrial design associate degree program is focused on teaching students' foundation industrial design technology skills that will help prepare them for entry into industrial design employment and/or transfer to senior colleges to continue their studies. We are looking for a broad range of design experiences across various lecturing positions for the design courses listed in our industrial design degree map. We are interested in industrial design lecturers who are focused on teaching students how to develop a human-centered design process, develop compelling product solutions and apply their technical and creative skills to build an exciting visual story about their ideas and designs. We currently have a great need for industrial design lecturers skilled in traditional and digital workshop practices, industrial design studio process and digital prototyping using Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi platforms and technologies.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the field of industrial design is required for this position. A graduate degree in industrial design is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in industrial design corporate environments, industrial design consulting environments or a combination of.
