About

Dr. Philip J. Gimber currently serves as the Chairperson for the Health Sciences Department and as a Nursing Professor at LaGuardia Community College. He has over two decades of teaching experience and holds NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner.

Before beginning his academic career, Dr. Gimber worked as a Registered Nurse and specialized in oncology and intensive care unit (ICU) settings. He also served as the Director of Nursing for a home care company and was responsible for overseeing operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients in their homes. His hands-on experience in these demanding environments not only equipped him with clinical proficiency but also instilled in him a deep understanding of patient care and the educational needs of college students.
