About

Dr. Ting Man Tsao is a professor of English, teaching composition and literature at LaGuardia Community College, City University of New York. With a native fluency in Chinese, he majored in English at Shue Yan College. He holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in English from Stony Brook University. Dr. Tsao has published articles in the fields of postcolonial studies, the medical humanities, creative nonfiction, pedagogy, higher education, and food studies. His book chapters appear in Asian Crossings (Hong Kong UP), Pirates and Mutineers of the Nineteenth Century (Ashgate), Illness in the Academy (Purdue UP), Papa, PhD (Rutgers UP), The American-Style University at Large (Lexington), Chop Suey and Sushi from Sea to Shining Sea (U of Arkansas P), and Extending the Ground of Public Confidence (Information Age Publishing). Dr. Tsao has also published in journals such as The History Teacher, Teaching English in the Two-Year College, Survive & Thrive: A Journal for Medical Humanities and Narrative as Medicine, Nursing Education Perspectives, Writing Macao, Postcolonial Text, and Victorians Institute Journal.
