About

Lilla Tőke is Associate Professor of English at LaGuardia, where she teaches composition, literature, and film courses. She obtained her Ph.D. from Stony Brook University in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies. She also has an M.Phil. degree in Gender Studies from the Central European University, Budapest. She has published articles in edited volumes and journals such as Studies in Eastern European Cinema and Hungarian Cultural Studies. Her scholarly work focuses on visual culture, film and television studies, Eastern European cinema, and gender theory. Her current research examines romance television in the age of streaming.
