About

An Africana Studies scholar by training, Dr. Jason T. Hendrickson’s research focuses on 20th-century African American literature, racial justice in higher education, and equity in classroom assessment. Dr. Hendrickson currently serves as a board member of CUNY’s Futures Initiative and as a board member of CUNY’s inaugural Teaching and Learning Conference. He has served as a co-leader in CUNY’s Transformative Learning in the Humanities Initiative and has also served as a Career Success Fellow. At LaGuardia, Dr. Hendrickson has also been co-chair of LaGuardia’s annual Black Lives Matter Summit as well as the campus’s Faculty and Staff of Color Collective. To add, Dr. Hendrickson serves on the Executive Committee of the College Language Association, where he is a life member. He is a Queens, NY native and first-generation college graduate.
