About

John Collins is the Director of the Deaf Studies Program at LaGuardia, where he teaches ASL, Deaf Sociology, and Sign Language Linguistics. He is also the Interim Program Director for the ASL-English Interpretation Program which trains individuals to become K-12 educational sign language interpreters. His background includes 20 years of teaching experience at the Lexington School for the Deaf, as well as teaching at Gallaudet University. He has been teaching full-time at LaGuardia since 2013. Prior to that he began teaching part-time in 2009.
