Resources for Students

Starting this Fall 2025, LaGuardia is using Brightspace, an online learning platform that replaces Blackboard. Students will use Brightspace to access course materials, complete assignments, and communicate with instructors among other things. To get you started:

  1. Log on Brightspace via cuny.edu (If you need help, watch this short video);
  2. Take two minutes to watch this tour of the home page;
  3. Review this quick guide for students to learn about key features in Brightspace;
  4. Review this site for resources and general information (including this checklist and an FAQ page);

Lastly, Blackboard will no longer be used. If you need support, see the campus support information below.

Resources for Faculty

Faculty are encouraged to review the following resources to prepare their courses in Brightspace:

  1. Make your course ‘Active’ in Brightspace (Video)
  2. Locate your course and classlist (Video)
  3. Send an announcement (VideoText)
  4. Send an email to your class (Video)
  5. Navigate the course admin Tool (Video)
