• Lavender LaGuardia

    Lavender LaGuardia is a voluntary list of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and/or asexual (LGBTQIA) staff and faculty at LaGuardia Community College. We aim to promote an inclusive and affirming climate for our students by expanding their knowledge of and access to LGBTQIA role models and mentors across campus.

    The goal is signaling safety to our students and fostering a network of support for all LGBTQIA members of the LaGuardia community.

  • How to Participate


    Faculty/staff Members of LaGuardia’s LGBTQIA community are invited to email Chelsea Del Rio at cdelrio@lagcc.cuny.edu. Please let her know if you’d like to:

    1. Display a Lavender LaGuardia sign on/near your office door. Please indicate which size (5" x 7" or 8.5" x 11").
    2. Be included in the Lavender LaGuardia list above. Please mention your preferred name, preferred pronouns and your department.
    3. Sign up for our email list to receive information about future programming.

  • LGBTQIA Allies


    Allies are vital to creating a welcoming environment. If you are interested in showing your support for the LGBTQIA community on campus, you can complete Safe Zone training through the Safe Zone Hub. To participate, email safezonehub@lagcc.cuny.edu.
