Welcome

LaGuardia Community College students come from more than 145 different countries and speak nearly 100 native languages, yet their determination to create a stronger future for themselves and their families through higher education is a dream they all share.

By partnering with the Center for Career and Professional Development, you can engage and connect with these students while providing a launch pad to success. Here are a few ways employers can work with LaGuardia’s Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) to hire motivated students looking to breakout into the professional world.

Through our online system, Career Connect, you can post jobs and internships available with your organization, as well as fairs and recruitment events.

The SOAR Experiential Learning Program gives employers the opportunity to hire talent, at no cost to your organization. Students work an average of 10 hours per week for 10-12 weeks per semester and are paid by the college.

Student interns across all our experiential learning programs are eager to learn new skills and gain useful work experience. The CCPD offers training to all interns to ensure they are prepared to provide your organization support.

What students can do for your organization:

  • Offer new ideas and fresh perspectives.
  • Lend capacity to your team for short-term projects
  • Provide skills, experience, and support that you need
  • Build awareness about your organization within LaGuardia Community College, the largest talent pipeline in NYC
  • Help your staff build supervisory and mentoring skills

If your organization is interested in hosting LaGuardia students or to learn more, complete the Experiential Learning Employer Interest Form.

For more information and to schedule an Employer Partner introductory meeting, contact the Center for Career & Professional Development at career@lagcc.cuny.edu or fill the engagement request form.
