Our President’s Society provides students like you the opportunity to practice and grow your professional skills through a year-long development program which features workshops and networking opportunities.
Why should I apply?
As a President’s Society Ambassador you will gain valuable skills to increase your preparedness and confidence as you transition from a community college to the workforce or four-year college.
- Earn a stipend of $2,000 for your attendance and service for the semester you participate in
- Gain a strong network of friends and mentors who can contribute to your future success
- Develop career planning skills such as interviewing and resume writing
- Practice public speaking, networking and presentation skills
- Refine your professional etiquette and attire
- Contribute to the community as a collegiate leader
Am I eligible?
Successful applicants are highly-motivated self-starters who ask questions, seek answers, and demand more of themselves every day. To be eligible, you must:
- Be a full-time LaGuardia student taking 12 or more credits (or equivalent)
- Have completed at least one full semester at LaGuardia
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Have a history of leadership at LaGuardia and demonstrated a commitment to enhancing your communities
- Make a firm commitment to attend all President’s Society workshops (Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:30 PM and Fridays from 10 AM – 2 PM)
How do I apply?
The application deadline for Fall 2023 – Spring 2024 President’s Society cohort was June 8, 2023. Any applications received after June 8th will be carefully reviewed and placed on a waitlist for further evaluation.
