General Description
This is an administrative non-tax levy related entities staff position reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources (HR), exercising independent judgment in the fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities assigned. This position is responsible for supporting the administration of all time and leave, benefits, onboarding and offboarding for the non-tax levy entities including Research Foundation of CUNY (RFCUNY), LaGuardia Community College Association, LaGuardia Community College Auxiliary, and the Early Childhood Learning Center. The Senior HR Generalist will work on other HR-related projects for staff hired for and paid by the non-tax levy entities and may supervise staff as required.
POSITION DETAILS
The Senior HR Generalist will assist with the administration and coordination of employment services for each respective non-tax levy entity. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Functions as a liaison to the RFCUNY Human Resources Department (RF-HR) in support of the College’s management team responsible for recruitment and other talent acquisition needs related to grants and other initiatives supported by funds at the Research Foundation of CUNY. Consults frequently with RF-HR to ensure consistency in information provided to employees and to ensure accuracy in all processes.
· Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping (including the I-9 maintenance, performance evaluations, and other personnel file documents), processing of new hires, pay administration within ADP Workforce Now, and benefits management (in consultation with the external benefits broker and TIAA representatives).
· Conducts routine onboarding or other training sessions for compliance and operational effectiveness purposes; designs information packages for employees as needed; assists with the coordination of onboarding activities as part of the College’s HR Department’s standards of operation; processes “person of interest” (i.e POI) documents and enters accurate data into CUNYFirst.
· Processes or assists with the processing of time and leave including annual, sick, unscheduled holiday, FMLA, Workers Compensation, and Paid Family Leave (PFL) according to the policies and procedures of each related entity; processes new hire payroll and benefit entries in ADP Workforce Now and TIAA CUNY portal.
· Reviews and proofreads job descriptions, prepares job postings, and coordinates advertisements for job searches; reviews and responds to applicants’ emails, screens resumes, prepares job offers, and closes searches; creates various reports in order to track recruitment and personnel action processes.
· Creates, collects, and organizes the documentation required for the performance evaluation and employment separation processes; provides general assistance with management of the performance appraisal process.
· Facilitates and attends meetings on behalf of the College or related entity; maintains frequent contact with related entity leadership regarding HR issues, and consults with the College’s Executive Director of HR regarding resolutions.

Qualifications
· A Master’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and three (3) years administrative, progressively responsible experience in human resources, of which at least one (1) year entailed working with state or local government processes, preferably in a higher education or non-profit organization, and at least one (1) year supervising the work of others in a related area.

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented College Lab Technician to support Natural Science lab classes by designing, maintaining, and facilitating hands-on laboratory experiences for undergraduates. The Humanities Department at LaGuardia Community College invites applications for the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach two courses in Art History: the History of Design and the History of Illustration. **The History of Design (HUA212):**
This is an introduction to the history of design as a major independent element of visual arts, and the ways in which intentionally produced objects, environments and experiences both shape and reflect their historical moment. The course will investigate how good design is expressed in architecture, household objects, crafts, tools and transportation. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of social, political and cultural factors and the role they play on how objects and structures are made, and why they look the way they do. Museum visits will be required.
**The History of Illustration (HUA214):** This course will examine the history of illustration from illuminated manuscripts to modern sequential narratives by considering the artwork within the framework of its culture. With the aid of primary source readings, illustrated books, and comics, students will learn to understand the unique power illustration has had in the history of art to convey ideas, to editorialize events, and to enhance literature. Emphasis is placed on illustration's relationship to fine art and on the education of the illustrator.

Master’s degree in area of expertise (Art History, Studio Art) and the ability to teach successfully.

Reporting to the Director of Casa de las Americas, the CUNY Office Assistant will assist with, but is not limited to, the following duties:
+ Provide administrative support to Casa de las Americas, including but not limited to answering phones, responding to inquiries, and organizing correspondences, reports, and other documents;

Under the Chief Librarian and Chairperson, the Public Services Specialist is responsible for supervising Library operations for the Public Services unit at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, Queens. The Public Services Specialist works closely with the students, staff, and faculty of a variety of campus and CUNY offices and programs to provide administrative support.

Reporting to the Chair of the Humanities Department, the College Laboratory Technician in Theater will be responsible, but not limited to, the following duties:

The CUNY Start Instructor possesses a clear understanding of CUNY Start’s English curriculum and the program’s pedagogical approaches for developing CUNY Start students’ readiness for college-level work. Reporting to the CUNY Start Academic Student Support Program Manager, the Instructor will perform the following and other related duties as assigned:
Instruction by Core Instructors
+ Teach two CUNY Start English classes of approximately 25 students each semester, or 50 students total, using the CUNY Start curriculum;
+ Teach CUNY Start curriculum in a well-managed in-person or online classroom that engages students in a manner that is consistent with CUNY Start’s pedagogical approach;
+ Collaborate closely with program advisors, teaching teams, and administration;
+ Comment on student papers to encourage development and revision;
+ Provide individual and small group assistance to students outside of class, as appropriate;
+ Participate in professional development meetings facilitated by CUNY Start English Curriculum and Professional Development team;
+ Prepare for, take part in, and help run orientation, student conferences, portfolio evaluation, and recruitment as appropriate;

Instruction Modality
CUNY Start may deliver instruction in multiple formats: in-person, online or as hybrid classes that are both online and in-person. Online instruction may be a combination of synchronous and asynchronous teaching that is determined at the discretion of program management. During periods of remote teaching, CUNY Start Teachers remain responsible for maintaining high levels of student engagement and enacting the CUNY Start curriculum with fidelity to the program model.
Guidance to Writing Assistants
+ Refer and guide students to CUNY Start tutoring for individual support outside of class; Model and provide tutoring, as needed;
+ Provide guidance on areas of need for individual students;
+ Coordinate Writing Assistant’s schedule to help ensure appropriate services and support are in place for students during class and outside of class.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Workforce Development, the Associate Director of Clinical Healthcare Programs develops, implements, and improves industry-informed and student-centered workforce development training programs with a clinical component in the healthcare sector, including, but not limited to Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). Reporting to the Associate Director of Grants Administration, the CUNY Office Assistant (COA) supports the operation of the Grants and Sponsored Programs Department. The (COA) performs the following duties:
+ Assist with preparation of periodic reports related to grant acquisitions and spending; help to organize and check Research Foundation and LaGuardia data for new annual CUNY Non-tax Levy Unrestricted Spending report;

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the Student Health Services Director contributes to the Division of Student Affairs by developing and maintaining partnerships and collaborations that enrich the campus experience and encourage healthy lifestyles.
This position has a significant integrative function, co-developing programming with other departments and academic units to ensure that well-being is encouraged and supported throughout the campus experience.
