Artificial Intelligence (AI) Certification Program

Begin a career in the cutting-edge field of Artificial Intelligence. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Certification Program offers a progressive learning path, starting with two foundational courses (AI Foundations I and II) that provide essential knowledge and skills in AI concepts as well as Python programming for machine learning. These courses are mandatory and must be taken in sequence.
The English Language Center
Student Handbook

The English Language Center (TELC) is the largest English language program in New York City. Since 1971, we have served over 275,000 students from over 80 countries.
TELC belongs to the Division of Adult and Continuing Education at LaGuardia Community College, which is one of 24 branches of the City University of New York (CUNY). As a community college, LaGuardia offers two-year academic degrees called associate’s degrees. After finishing at LaGuardia, many students transfer to one of CUNY’s four-year colleges to study for bachelor’s degrees.
The classes at TELC are designed to help improve your language skills and help you reach other goals, such as enrolling in college, or living more comfortably in the United States.
Train & Earn

Train & Earn is a career pathways program serving youth ages 16-24 who are out of work and out of school. We provide comprehensive job training and employment services along with support services to help you find a permanent job and/or access postsecondary education and training.
High School Equivalency (HSE) Overview

LaGuardia Community College offers many high school equivalency preparation programs, courses and services. Choose a program that fits your specific needs.
LaGuardia is also an official NY State Education Department Testing Center for the General Educational Development (GED®) exam, the high school equivalency examination for New York State. If you take high school equivalency preparation classes at LaGuardia, once you are ready to take the GED, we will assist you in registering the free exam at our testing center. If you wish to take the exam without taking classes, you may apply directly.
Solar Panel Installation Training Program

Long Island City and Astoria are home to some of New York City’s largest power plants, contributing to air pollution in the area and beyond. As the clean energy sector grows, new job opportunities are emerging. Learn both theory and practical skills to become a Solar Panel Installation Technician and be a part of an industry that’s helping to improve quality of life.
HVACR 1 Training Program

Begin a career in plumbing with this hands-on training, which prepares you for entry-level positions in the field. The program includes OSHA 30 Hour certification and uses the industry recognized National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Construction Core and Plumbing Level 1 curricula.

Assessment involves the Career Coach tool as well as consideration of personal responsibilities outside of education settings; prior work and educational experience; and commitment to completing the next step in your career development plan.

Everyday Entrepreneur Program

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) – Northeast Region, located at LaGuardia Community College, helps new and emerging businesses obtain transportation-related contracts. We provide training and advising on marketing to the Department of Transportation, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification and bonding assistance. The SBTRC is funded by the USDOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization.
We serve New York State, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine.
Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Workshops & Worksites

SYEP Younger Youth (14-15 years old) Learn about yourself and explore options for your future.
Earn a stipend each week for six weeks of Project-Based Learning (PBL) classes.
