  • Three Easy Steps to Register

    Check My LaGuardia and your student email for important messages about your Spring II and Fall 2016 Advisement and Registration.

    Register Now for Spring II and Fall 2016 by logging into CUNYfirst. 

    Note: CUNYfirst will be temporarily unavailable from May 13-17, please register before or after this period.

    •  Step 1. Meet with your advising team

      You must be advised before registering. You have an Advising Team, based on your major, to help you map out the best route to graduation, a four-year college or a career. 

      To schedule an appointment with an advisor from your Advising Team, visit your major's website or the student advising website for info on your advisors.

      Before your advisement meeting - Be prepared.

      1.  Review your major's website for a list of your Advising Team, degree requirements, recommended course list, etc.

      2.  Check your CUNYfirst account to see if you have any negative service indicators (HOLDS), e.g. "B" from the Bursar's Office. You can view them under HOLDS on the first screen of your CUNYfirst account. Holds must be cleared before registering. 

      3.  Print your Degree Audit and a list of courses you wish to take for the semester. Bring them to your meeting.
           - Review your Degree Audit. It is a useful tool to help you determine the right classes to take next semester. Click here for instructions on how to access your Degree Audit.  

      4.  Write down any questions you may have for your advisor.

      If you are unable to meet with your advisor in person, get advised online. Log in to My LaGuardia, click on “Ask an Advisor” to submit the courses you are interested in taking and any other general questions.

      After your advisement meeting

      1.  Check your CUNYfirst account for your assigned registration appointment date. 

      Please continue to check My LaGuardia, your student email or the college events calendar for advising events for your major.

       Step 2. Register for classes

      A. Log in to CUNYfirst to register.
      B. Look for the ENROLLMENT DATES box to see your registration date, click on MORE to view the time.
      C. Need help? Visit the Registration Lab in Room B-218.

       Step 3. Verify your financial aid and pay your bill

      View your TOTAL DUE and your payment due date on CUNYfirst. If you do not have a remaining balance enjoy your classes!

      If you have a remaining balance, explore funding sources below: 

      A. Renew and/or File your FAFSA for Federal Student Aid! Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to apply. Need help?  Visit Financial Aid Resource Center in Room C-109.
      B. Apply for a Foundation scholarship.
      C. Need a payment plan? 
      Visit CUNY payment plan website or call (888) 470-6014.
      D. Visit the Bursar’s Office in Room C-110 to settle your tuition bill.
