Opening Sessions is LaGuardia’s annual kickoff event for faculty and staff, offering a shared space to reflect, reconnect, and reignite our commitment to student success. The day begins with a keynote address and professional development sessions, followed by afternoon events and a campus-wide reception to welcome the academic year.
This year’s theme, “Learning Beyond the Classroom: Expanding Opportunities Through Experiential and Work-Based Learning,” centers on connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences. Together, we’ll explore how internships, service learning, civic engagement, and hands-on pedagogy equip students for meaningful careers and lifelong growth.
Come join your fellow colleagues as we begin the 2025–2026 academic year with purpose, collaboration, and inspiration.
