From Major to Career: Finding Your Best Fit (Collaboration with Vault)

How do you choose a major that aligns with your skills, interests, and career goals? Whether you’re undecided or re-evaluating your path, this workshop will guide you through the process of connecting majors to real-world careers. This virtual workshop is presented by the Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD) and in collaboration with Frank Siano, Director, Academic Success at Vault, a career research platform currently available at LaGuardia Community College.

During this session, we’ll cover:

• How to discover the right major for you – from career assessments to conversations with advisors.
• Tools to research career paths – including Vault which provides detailed job summaries and insights to help align your major with future opportunities.
• Emerging career trends – new professions and industries where you can apply your skills in ways you might not have considered.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a clearer strategy for choosing a major and a better understanding of career possibilities beyond the traditional paths, but there will be time for Q&A at the end!
