Assistant (CMAA)

Launch your healthcare career with training that prepares you for entry-level medical administrative positions. You will learn basic medical terminology, documentation, confidentiality, professional etiquette, customer service and patient satisfaction, and Microsoft Word and Excel. You'll also prepare to take the National Healthcare Association's (NHA) Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam. Upon successful completion of this course, you will earn a LaGuardia certificate of completion and receive an exam voucher. You can also earn up to 6 college credits towards an AS Degree in Business Administration: Healthcare Management at LaGuardia Community College and may qualify for an internship or job placement assistance. Prerequisite: High school diploma or equivalency as well as English proficiency and fluency in order to fully participate and succeed in class.
