On November 11th, our nation celebrates Veterans Day and honors the selfless service and sacrifice of our veterans and active-duty military. We recognize members of our college community – LaGuardia students, faculty, staff and alumni – who have proudly served in uniform for our country.
Your service has protected our freedoms and way of life. You deserve our collective thanks not just on Veterans Day but throughout the year.
At LaGuardia, we welcome and support military veterans and their families as they transition from the military to civilian life. I wish to thank our Veterans Resource Center for continuing to provide support to veterans, reservists, and other military personnel as they pursue a college education at LaGuardia. Our veterans contribute to the diversity that makes LaGuardia Community College special. And to our student veterans in particular, we are grateful that you have decided to start, continue or complete your educational journey with us.
As we celebrate Veterans Day, please take the time to extend your thanks to those who have or are serving our country. It is because of them, and their families, that we enjoy the freedoms that we often take for granted.
