LaGuardia Community College Hosts 7th Annual Hunger Banquet and Food Day Fair on Wednesday, November 5

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY (November 4, 2025) — Students, faculty and staff of LaGuardia Community College/CUNY are invited to participate in the 7th Annual Hunger Banquet and Food Day Fair on Wednesday, November 5. These immersive experiences challenge participants to reflect on the inequalities in food access—locally and globally—through guided discussion, role play, and hands-on activities.
“We want participants to come away with a deeper understanding of food insecurity, poverty, and discrimination,” said Cynthia Vazquez, MPH, RDN, CDM, CFPP, director of the Nutrition and Culinary Management Program, which is hosting the two events with support from the College Association.
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food and winter clothing for distribution to students in need through LaGuardia CARES.
