LONG ISLAND CITY, NY (July 7, 2025) — The LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC) at LaGuardia Community College/CUNY presents a UN-spoken, a one-night-only contemporary dance performance exploring the emotional impact of bullying. Created and directed by Elodie Dufroux, the show will take place on Friday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets available now.

“This piece is personal—rooted in my own story—and explores what it means to be seen, heard, and sometimes silenced,” says Dufroux. “But more than anything, it’s about connection, strength, and what brings us back together.”

Blending storytelling and movement, UN-spoken delves into the lasting effects of bullying—touching on resilience, identity, and social exclusion—issues that resonate deeply with school communities.

UN-spoken is more than a performance—it’s an experience,” says Handan Ozbilgin, LPAC Artistic Director. “Elodie transforms movement into message, giving form to the invisible weight of words and offering a powerful lens on bullying. She not only shows the pain of exclusion but the power of connection.”

“We’re proud to bring UN-spoken to Western Queens,” says Evelyn Lowmark, LPAC Interim Executive Director. “We hope it sparks dialogue and empathy, encouraging audiences to reflect on how they treat others and respond to the struggles around them.”

“Every time we perform, I feel the audience connecting to the message,” adds Dufroux. “It’s a reminder that we’re not alone—and that sharing our stories matters.”

Originally from France, Dufroux has worked with choreographers including Jon Rua (Hamilton), Luis Salgado, and Carlos Neto. Her credits include performances at the Telemundo Upfront at the Ziegfeld Theatre and with PHISH at Madison Square Garden’s 2019–2020 New Year’s Eve show.
