Honors Student Advisory Committee (HSAC)
The Honors Student Advisory Committee (HSAC) is the dynamic student arm of the Honors Program. Since its establishment in 2010, it has programmed highly successful events for all LaGuardia studentson the topics such as Transfer, Scholarship, Student Research and Civic Engagement.
HSAC members are focused campus student leaders who—because of demonstrated service to the Program and the college—are eligible for opportunities to attend national and regional conferences, like the annual conventions of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) and the Northeast Regional Honors Council (NRHC). Past HSAC members have received awards such as NCHC’s Student of the Year Award, NCHC’s Best Student Research Poster Prize, the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Scholarship, been elected to the NRHC Executive Board, served as class speakers at commencement, presented their research at scholarly conferences, and transferred to selective 4-year colleges.
HSAC leaders can be found in Honors House (M222), where they hold peer advisement hours and work together to organize numerous academic and civic engagement activities for all of their LaGuardia peers.
