LGBTQIA Counseling Group

This weekly counseling group is for anyone who self-identifies as queer (LGBTQIA+) and/or gender expansive (TNGC) and wants to connect with others in a supportive environment. While belonging to the queer community can be a source of strength, it also brings unique challenges. This group aims to provide support, explore feelings and experiences, share coping skills, build a safe and affirming community, and foster individual and collective strength and resiliency.

DISCUSSION GROUPS with Queens Public Philosophy: Love

Come to Forest Hills Library to participate in engaging, philosophical discussions with fellow Queens residents regarding some of the big questions in life. Each session will cover a different philosophical topic. This is not an “ivory tower” discussion, but a welcoming space for open minds, stimulating thoughts and respectful discourse. No philosophy or specific academic background is needed.

The 4th Annual Hunger Banquet, Food Drive and Food Day Fair

The Hunger Banquet from 11:45am to 1 pm at the Poolside Cafe is an interactive activity simulating the imbalanced distribution of food in our world. At the event, seating at the banquet is determined by the luck of the draw.

The Food Day Fair will have the following:

  • Get your Blood pressure checked by the Nursing Program and participate in activities by other Health Science programs.

Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil

Make it happen Monday: Transfer Credit Evaluation

When: Monday, November 28, 2022 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Where: C-Building, Room C-102

The "Make it happen Monday" transfer credit evaluation session is your opportunity to meet one on one with a transfer credit team member and learn what credits may transfer to our college before you apply.

Important note: You must bring a copy of all of your previous college transcripts (unofficial transcripts are okay) and the transcripts must be from a college or University in the U.S. If you do not bring all of your transcripts we will be unable to complete the session.

Applicants with foreign transcripts from outside the U.S. are not eligible for these sessions.

Please also note the preliminary evaluation is based on the degree selected, and the maximum # of credits is 30 for an associate degree. Also note these evaluations are preliminary and we cannot guarantee that all of the credits offered will transfer upon applying to the college. Reservations are required for these sessions.
