• Virtual New Student Orientation


    Whether you're a first-time freshman, transfer or international student, you'll be looking for guidance during this exciting change. We’re here to help support you through your first year at LaGuardia and connect you with opportunities and resources for a smart start to your academic career.


    What to expect during virtual Orientation:

    1. Watch your LaGuardia email for an invite to attend Virtual New Student Orientation via Zoom on Monday, March 1 or Tuesday, March 2. (Schedule below.)
    2. Complete the Orientation module available in VIP for a brief overview of LaGuardia’s support services.
    3. Read a welcome letter from the Associate Provost & VP of Student Affairs, Dr. Nireata Seals.
    4. Watch our helpful videos about paying for college, technical support and tips for academic success.
    5. Check out all the distance learning support available to help you throughout the fall semester and beyond.

    11–11:45 a.m. Breakout Session #2: Your First-Year Experience
    Know what to expect in your first year as well as technology resources available to you. Hear from:

    11:45–12:30 p.m. Breakout Session #3: Peers Panel
    Learn about virtual engagement opportunities and how to be a successful student in a virtual learning environment. (Moderated by Campus Life staff.) Hear from:

    • Multicultural Exchange Mentors
    • Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Members
    12:30– 1:15 p.m. Virtual Lobby
