Pi-day

Pi-day is an annual celebration that began in 2012. Since then, Pi-day has grown to be a successful and popular event at the college. The event attracts over 200 students, faculty, and staff. The Pi-day celebration exposes the LaGuardia community—including students, faculty, and staff—to the beautiful and fun side of math. The event helps to build a culture of math-engagement, and spark dialogues and discussions of the subject. Pi-day is an opportunity to demonstrate the side of mathematics that can thrill the intellect to our community, and the aesthetic beauty found in math. The students are informed of various academic and career opportunities available in math and related areas.
