New York Forum of Amazigh Film

April 18 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

NYFAF is an annual Global Learning co-curricular and community event that takes place in April at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center’s Little Theater and online. Co-curated by Drs. Habiba Boumlik and Lucy McNair, its mission is to explore global issues through the lens of Indigenous North African and Sahelian cinema, to promote Amazigh cultural expression, and to foster links between North African and North American audiences. All screenings are free and open to the public; pedagogical packets are provided to faculty.

NYFAF’s 9th edition this year will take place on Thursday, April 18 with morning, afternoon and evening screenings, each followed by Q&As with invited experts. Partnering with the Middle East Institute of Columbia University, we are happy to invite as special guest the Moroccan-French director Izza Genini, whose documentaries focus on Amazigh women and music. A virtual screening and discussion will also take place on May 17.

Register for this event.
