Interfaith Council Open House

May 15 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

The LaGuardia Community College Interfaith Council was formed as a means to openly and peacefully discuss varied perspectives regarding faith. The Council seeks to spark respectful dialogue about faith and its role in our lives, challenging assumptions and fostering mutual understanding. We also seek to provide a safe space for students to explore their own faith journeys and learn from diverse religious and spiritual perspectives, ultimately equipping them with the knowledge and skills to constructively engage in interfaith conversations, and contribute to a more just and harmonious world.

With commentary from special guests:

  • Emmanuel Nartey (Priest, and Professor of Philosophy of Religion/LaGuardia Community College)
  • Huzaifah Islam Khan (Graduate Student in Islamic Studies, and Alum/LaGuardia Community College)
  • Lakshmi Bandlamudi (Professor of Psychology/LaGuardia Community College) Rabbi Sara Zacharia (Hillel/Queens College)
  • Sophia McGee (Director of Intercultural Student Engagement and Dialogue/CUNY Central Office of Student Affairs)
