Brown Bag Series: On De-escalation: Methods that Work

March 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Presented by the Working Group on Student Conduct and Academic Integrity. All Brown Bag will be held virtual via Zoom.

The purpose of this workshop is to help faculty and staff gain a better understanding about how to de-escalate situations involving students who present as frustrated, disengaged, and/or aggressive, and those who may be in the midst of mental health challenges. The facilitator will review “cries for help” vs other types of conduct issues, warning signs, and de-escalation methods that work within and outside of a classroom setting. The workshop will also include “scenarios,” and provide participants with a list of referral units and applicable resources.

All are invited to attend.
