AgSTEM Career and Transfer Day

Visit LaGuardia Community College for an Open House on all careers related to AgSTEM. We will describe LAGCC’s Environmental Science Program with its General, Sustainable Urban Agriculture and Animal Science options.

Are you interested in:

• Do you love being outside and exploring the natural world?
• Do you want a degree that you can travel with anywhere in the world?
• Would you like to learn cool new technology like GIS which helps make google maps?
• Would you like to own your own kitchen/chef’s garden/farm? Maybe a cafe with your own kitchen garden?
• Are you interested in learning how to grow sustainable food in NYC and beyond?
• Are you interested in hydroponics and aquaponics?
• Are you interested in animals, wildlife, conservation, and behavior?
• Are you interested in Veterinary medicine or Veterinary Science?
• Are you interested in the ethical treatment of animals?

Start at LAGCC for a solid foundation and an easy transfer to our four-year partners.

We will conduct hands on learning in key courses such as Plant Science, Soil Science, Environmental Science, Sustainable Urban Agriculture, Animal Behavior and Ethics, Genetics and Animal Physiology. We will tour the research and teaching labs at LAGCC as well as have tabling events with our 4-year partners such as Rutgers University, SUNY Cobleskill, Cornell CALS, SUNY ESF and Brooklyn College, where students will learn about our 2+2 programs. Students will learn about federally funded careers with the USDA and about fully funded LAGCC-Rutgers scholarships and paid, summer internships.
