If you are an English as a Second Language (ESL) student who has been admitted to a City University of New York (CUNY) college, but needs to spend more time learning English before taking your college courses, the CUNY English Language Immersion Program (CLIP) will help you develop your English language skills and prepare you for study in the college.

    Classes meet for five hours a day, five days a week. Morning, afternoon or evening sessions are available. You are encouraged to spend one year in the program.

    To register in CLIP, you need to:
    1. Bring a letter of acceptance from a CUNY college to Room C-224.
    2. Have taken the CUNY Assessment Test (CAT-W).
    3. Take the CLIP English tests, so we know what class level you need. Make an appointment for testing through the CLIP office (see CONTACT US).
    4. Complete your registration papers in C-224.
    5. Pay for your classes in the Bursar's Office, Room C-110 (cash or money order).
