Cameras for Science Exhibit
Welcome to the 5th exhibition of the LaGuardia’s Camera for Science initiative which includes 51 images from 33 stellar photographers.
Spanning a multitude of ideas, these photographs submitted by LaGuardia students, faculty, and the East-West School of International Studies, encompass optical and chemical phenomena, documentation of the natural world, the solar eclipse, and personal experiences.
Photography and science have long been intertwined, helping to shape the way we look at the world. Two observational disciplines that continually reimagine and redefine each other as our need to see and ways of looking evolve.
Science is a process of discovery and inquiry. In this way, it is like art; artists have engaged with some of the same scientific principles, using photography to imagine the world differently and present us with new experiences and ways of seeing.
Thank you to all the participating photographers and bravo on your creative work! Special thanks to the folks in the Communications and Marketing team who designed this gorgeous website and to the Photography Program faculty and staff for helping to bring this exhibit together.
Please join us in celebrating these photographers and viewing the scientific world through their eyes.
