October 9, 2025: LaGuardia Community College was the venue for a recent announcement from NYC’s Department of Transportation. October 9, 2025: The NYC Department of Transportation marked the kickoff of its annual Trick-or-Streets initiative on the brand-new 29th Street Plaza outside LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City—a 17,000-square-foot pedestrian space complete with tables, bike corrals and one of the largest asphalt murals in the city, designed by LaGuardia fine arts student Fernanda Contreras.
