Transfer Advising Workshop for Faculty

When: Friday, February 22, 2019 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Where: E-Building, E-242

Strong support for community college students exploring transfer at all stages of their studies increases their likelihood of graduating with an A.A. degree and subsequently earning a bachelor’s degree. In the past two years, the newly-expanded Transfer Office and the College Senate’s Ad-Hoc Committee on Transfer (an interdepartmental faculty and staff committee) has made great progress in meeting the 2016-2017 College Strategic Plan goal to increase the transfer rate of AA/AS graduates to baccalaureate programs. In this workshop, we will build on that success by providing support for the other crucial component of preparing students for transfer: faculty’s role in developing and supporting student understanding of articulation agreements, registration and curriculum.

Organized by the Transfer Advising Mini-Seminar co-leaders Dr. Jayashree Kamble, Dr. Kai-chun Chuang and Dr. Natalie Havlin. Supported by Marzena Bugaj and the Center for Teaching and Learning at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY.
