HOW TO APPLY
- Attend an information session
- You will be given a walkthrough of the assessment and application process
- You will have the opportunity to ask questions
- Complete a short online assessment by December 21, 2023
- Submit an application by December 21, 2023
- Selected applicants will then be invited to participate in the interview process which will take place between January 8 – January 22, 2024
- Complete a virtual interview
- Selected applicants will be notified of acceptance into the Bridge Program by January 25, 2024
- Bridge Course begins January 30, 2024 and ends on February 29, 2024
- Completion of the Bridge Course guarantees admittance into the Film Grip Training Course, which begins March 5, 2024 and ends May 21, 2024
ELIGIBILITY
- 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalency
- New York tristate area resident
- Available to attend Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
COURSES
Build your foundational knowledge and start developing the daily skills necessary to work on a professional film set as a grip. You will become familiar with core competencies such as construction terminology, set etiquette, best practices, and safety rules and procedures used while working on a set as well as electric and power tools. This course prepares you for the Film Production Grip Training course. (30 hours)
Instructor: Brian Walls
Grips are active in all stages of professional film production and help to keep sets safe and highly efficient. Learn how to operate tools and develop the skills that are needed during the course of a professional production in this hands-on training that mimics an actual film set. (60 hours) Pre-requisite: Bridge to Film Production Grip Training.
