American Sign Language (ASL)
English Interpretation Program

Regrettably, we must inform you that LaGuardia’s American Sign Language – English Interpretation Program (AEIP) is currently on hiatus due to the loss of its grant funding. Over the years, AEIP has been an integral part of our college, fostering a supportive environment for ASL interpretation education and training. We understand the importance of this program to our community and are actively seeking alternative funding sources to ensure its continuation.

AEIP has consistently played a vital role in promoting accessibility and inclusivity through ASL interpretation, bridging communication gaps and promoting understanding among individuals with diverse language needs. The program’s temporary hiatus is indeed a setback, but we remain committed to exploring all avenues to secure the necessary funding and reinstate the program at the earliest opportunity.

We are grateful for the ongoing support of our community, and we encourage your continued engagement as we work diligently to address this funding challenge. Your understanding, patience, and dedication to the principles of inclusivity are greatly appreciated during this time.

Please stay connected with us for further updates on AEIP progress and any developments regarding its potential reinstatement. We are optimistic that, with your support and our collective efforts, we will successfully secure the resources needed to continue offering this valuable program.

Thank you for your understanding and for being a crucial part of the LaGuardia Community College community.
