Get Support from an SSM: Visit the FYS Lab

Do you have questions about completing an ePortfolio assignment? Do you want to learn more about college resources? Do you need advice from a fellow LaGuardia student? Both virtual and in-person support is available for students currently enrolled in a Fall II 2022 First Year Seminar (FYS) course. All in-person support takes place in room C-447.

If you’d like to receive in-person support but our in-person lab hours do not match your schedule, just email SSM@lagcc.cuny.edu to let us know, and we will do our best to find you support that works with your schedule!

Virtual Support
You can make an appointment to meet virtually with an SSM using your My LaGuardia page. Select the “RSVP” button under Meet with a Student Success Mentor. Appointments are 30 minutes in length. If you need more than 30 minutes, you are encouraged to schedule another appointment.

Two important notes for students regarding the FYS Lab:

• Receiving support from an SSM in the FYS Open Lab is not an alternative to attending your First Year Seminar Studio Hour lab. You are still required to attend the weekly Studio Hour sessions with your SSM.
• SSMs are available in the First Year Seminar lab based on their availability. You may not necessarily receive an appointment with your SSM. However, all SSMs are trained and knowledgeable of the First Year Seminar course and ePortfolio. If you’d like to meet with your specific SSM, you are encouraged to contact them directly to set up an appointment.
