Committees

The Professional Development Committee, part of the LaGuardia Senate, has six subcommittees:

The In-Service Training subcommittee offers yearly seminars and workshops, designed for the training and professional development of LaGuardia faculty and staff
The Opening Sessions subcommittee organizes Opening Sessions, LaGuardia's annual kick-off to the academic year and which features speakers and breakout sessions, usually around a single topic the College community wishes to explore
The Ruhma Choudhury Research Colloquium provides faculty with an opportunity to discuss their works in progress and to receive feedback from their colleagues on their research. In addition to supporting and encouraging faculty scholarship, the colloquium promotes an interdisciplinary dialogue at the college among the members of different departments.
Faculty and Staff Notes is a publication that spotlights scholarship and accomplishment around LaGuardia
Established during the 1991-92 academic year, the Educational Development Initiative Team (EDIT) administers LaGuardia’s Professional Development Grant Program.
The Professional Development on Diversity & Inclusion subcommittee provides a space for faculty to bring their experience and knowledge into conversation with the latest research on diversity and global learning pedagogy.

The In-Service Training subcommittee offers yearly seminars and workshops, designed for the training and professional development of LaGuardia faculty and staff.
