The LaGuardia Challenge
Living in the neighborhoods hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, LaGuardia Community College students have confronted the loss of loved ones, jobs and income. Our students want to stay in school to gain the skills and earn the degrees that will get them well-paying jobs, and help them build better lives for themselves and their families. They are the future workforce of New York City. But to succeed they need your help.
Psychology, Class of 2020
“The LaGuardia Foundation Scholarship made it possible for me to stay in school, to earn my associate degree and to continue my studies to become a professional in the field of psychology, which is so important for society, especially in the current COVID crisis.”
Criminal Justice, Class of 2020
“My Foundation scholarship allowed me to pay my tuition and buy books and groceries. It not only helped financially but gave me some relief so that I could focus better on my studies instead of being worried about how I will pay for the semester and other bills.”
Biology, Class of 2021
“The current situation with the global pandemic is making it even more challenging for international students to keep up with financial obligations. But the financial assistance and counseling I have received from LaGuardia will help me advance my future in the medical field.”
