• Energy Technician

    LaGuardia’s Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Energy Technician offers tracks in Mechanical Technology and Electrical Technology.

  • The Energy Technician program is administered by the Department of Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science (MEC). Energy technicians work in high-demand, growing fields related to computers, cellular phones, and global positioning systems (GPS) technologies.

    According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median salary for architecture and engineering occupations for those with an associate degree was $54,871 in 2015; which is significantly higher than the median annual wage for all occupations in the economy, which was $36,200.*
