• Tickets


    Each graduate can sign up to receive one (1) ticket for themselves and two (2) tickets for guests. To receive your tickets, please come to cap-and-gown distribution on the day your major is assigned to pick up regalia, even if you’re not picking up a cap and gown ( See pickup schedule below.)

    Please note: Children will need an admission ticket, and strollers are not permitted.



  • Academic Attire


    Graduation regalia (in other words, a cap and gown) is required to participate in the ceremony. Here’s how you can order the proper attire.

    The deadline for online ordering has passed, but extra gowns will be available for purchase during cap-and-gown distribution. See schedule below.

    After May 31, you can place an order online for keepsake attire for your home celebrations or pictures with standard home shipping costs of $7.95 per order. (Please note that there is no guaranteed delivery date for orders placed after May 31.)

    Please note:

    • Cap-and-gown purchases will not be available on the day of the ceremony.
    • If you ship to home, you still need to attend cap-and-gown distribution to get admission tickets. See schedule below.

    You can keep your cap and gown as a souvenir.

    Important note: Please be sure to pick up your cap and gown by June 16.

    Can’t make it on your assigned date? See the protocol below for sending someone in your place to purchase your cap and gown and pick up your tickets.



    If you are unable to attend on the date designated by your major and need to send someone on your behalf, please do the following:
    1. Send an email from your LaGuardia account to Campus Life at campuslife@lagcc.cuny.edu. Please include:
      1. Your first and last name
      2. EMPL ID and major
      3. First and last name of the person who will be picking up items on your behalf.

        4. Note: Please send this email no later than 5:30 p.m. the night before your scheduled day. Requests sent after this time will be responded to in a timely fashion and will be provided with an alternate date for pickup

    2. Check your LaGuardia email account for a confirmation message. Without confirmation, your request is not valid.
    3. Your representative is expected to show on the designated day of your major and must show a valid photo ID in order to receive tickets.
    4. The Campus Life team will have a printout of the email and confirmation that was sent to you. The team will honor email requests received no later than 5:30 p.m. the evening before the day your major is scheduled.

    If you do not have a representative who can attend on the designated day, please contact Campus Life at 718-482-5190 or email Campus Life at campuslife@lagcc.cuny.edu for an alternative date.




  • Vaccination and Mask Policies


    Graduates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or have a CUNY approved exception or exemption, in order to attend. Guests must either be vaccinated or have proof of a negative COVID-19 test to enter the ceremony.

    Graduates: Be prepared to show one of the following:

    • Your CUNY Vax Pass through your personal Cleared4 link
    • Your LaGuardia Mobile App ID with green border
    • Your original vaccination card plus an ID

    If you haven’t uploaded proof of vaccination, submit it in CUNYfirst by Tuesday, June 7 – see instructions or visit Room C-111 for help. If you need to request a medical exemption, you can do so via the CUNYfirst Vaccine Verification Form by Sunday, May 22.

    Guests: In addition to an admission ticket, all guests regardless of age (infants through adults) will need to present either an original CDC vaccination card or NYS Excelsior Pass or proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of June 21. Guests over the age of 21 should also be prepared to present an ID (such as a driver’s license).

    • Children under 5 years of age must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of June 21. Please note that strollers and carriages are not allowed on campus, and children cannot be seated on laps.


    Everyone is encouraged to bring their original CDC vaccination card in case of any technological issues.

    If you are not vaccinated, you must wear a mask. If you are vaccinated, masks are encouraged but not required.

    Queens College is located at 65-30 Kissena Boulevard at the corner of the Long Island Expressway (LIE) and Kissena Boulevard (Exit 24) in Flushing, Queens. See student/guest campus map.

    Subway & Bus From Queens & Brooklyn:

    F train to Parsons Boulevard
    On Archer Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard, take the Queens College Shuttle. On Jamaica Avenue and 160th Street or Hillside Avenue and Parsons Boulevard, take the Q25, Q25-34, or Q34 bus. From Hillside Avenue and either 169th or 179th Street, take the Q17 bus to Kissena Boulevard.

    E, J and Z trains
    On Archer Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard, take the Queens College Shuttle or from Jamaica Avenue and 160th Street or Hillside Avenue and Parsons Boulevard, take the Q25, Q25-34, or Q34 bus to campus. From Hillside Avenue and either 169th or 179th Street, take the Q17 bus to the campus.

    From Manhattan:

    7 train to Flushing/Main Street
    On Main Street look for the Queens College Shuttle or take the Q25, Q25-34, Q34 or Q17 bus along Kissena Blvd. to the campus.

    M, R, E and F trains to Forest Hills/71st-Continental (E, F run express)
    Use the "North side - 70 Ave. and 108 St" exit. Take the Q64 bus to Kissena Blvd. (one block south of the campus).

    Bus Only

    Q17
    Runs from Main Street, Flushing (#7 subway and LIRR stations), to the 165th Street terminal in Jamaica (passing the IND 179th Street station). Travels along Kissena Boulevard, LIE service road, 188th Street, and Hillside Avenue. Stops at Kissena and the LIE, two blocks from the main gate.

    Q20A/B
    Runs along Parsons Boulevard, then Union Street, switching to Main Street at Northern Boulevard. Line continues on Main Street until Horace Harding Expressway (LIE), looping along Sutphin Boulevard and Archer Avenue before reversing course. Passes Queens Hall in both directions.

    Q25-34
    Runs from Main Street, Flushing (#7 subway and LIRR stations), along Kissena (stops at the main gate) and Parsons Boulevards to Jamaica Avenue and 160th Street (BMT and IND).

    Q44
    Runs from West Farms Square, Bronx (IRT) to Sutphin Boulevard, Jamaica (LIRR station). Stops at Main Street and Melbourne Avenue, two blocks west of campus.

    Q64
    Runs from Continental Avenue, Forest Hills (IND), along Jewel Avenue to 164th Street. Stops one block from campus.

    Q88
    Runs from Springfield Boulevard and Union Turnpike along Springfield to 73rd Avenue; along (or west on) 73rd Avenue to 188th Street; along 188th Street to the LIE; along the LIE service road to Queens Boulevard and Woodhaven Boulevard. Stops at Kissena Boulevard and the LIE, two blocks from the main gate.

    QM4
    Connects midtown Manhattan to Electchester, Queens. Runs between Third Avenue/East 56th Street in Manhattan, and 164th Street/Horace Harding Expressway (LIE) in Queens.

    Long Island Railroad (LIRR) Flushing Station:
    On Main Street look for the Queens College Shuttle or take the Q25, Q25-34, Q34 or Q17 bus along Kissena Blvd to the campus.

    Jamaica Station:
    (all trains except Port Washington branch). On Archer Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard, look for the Queens College Shuttle; or from Jamaica Avenue and 160th Street or Hillside Avenue and Parsons Boulevard, take the Q25, Q25-34, or Q34 bus to the campus. From Hillside Avenue and either 169th or 179th Street, take the Q17 bus to the campus.

    Driving

    From Long Island:
    Take the LIE (495) westbound and watch for Queens College signs. For the main gate, get off at Exit 24 (Kissena Boulevard). Make a left at the light onto Kissena Boulevard. For on-campus parking, get off at Exit 23 (Main St), turn left onto Main Street and make another left onto LIE service road. Watch for Queens College signs to Kupferberg parking.

    From Manhattan:
    Take the LIE eastbound (495) and watch for Queens College signs. Get off at Exit 24 (Kissena Boulevard). For main gate, continue down the service road until the first traffic light and make a right onto Kissena Boulevard. For on-campus parking, watch for signs for Kupferberg parking as soon as you exit the LIE.

    Graduates: Please arrive at 7:30 a.m. completely robed in gown, stole and/or hood, cap and tassel at Gate 1 or the Main Gate on Kissena Blvd and report to your assigned Assembly Area.

    If you are graduating with honors, remember to bring your honor’s cord. All graduates will will be greeted by College volunteers and staff who will direct you to the proper position for the processional, which will begin sharply at 9:30 a.m.

    Family and friends may arrive at 8:00 a.m. They can enter Queens College via Gate 1 or the Main Gate on Kissena Blvd. and take a seat in the Quad. ( See student/guest campus map). Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Please be sure to arrive before the ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Anyone arriving after 9:30 a.m. will have to wait to be seated until after the graduates have marched into the Quad and been seated. All children will need an admission ticket and will sit in a chair. Strollers and carriers are not permitted on campus.

    Please note that LaGuardia is not responsible for any personal belongings (i.e., bags, rain ponchos and other miscellaneous items). Umbrellas are not permitted.



    Seating arrangements for students or guests with special needs may be made in advance. On the day of Commencement, College volunteers and Public Safety personnel will help direct guests with special needs to their seats via accessible routes.

  • Security Screening at Queens College


    See vaccination policy above for required documentation.

    Please note:

    • Please eat prior to your arrival and bring bottled water to stay hydrated.
    • Balloons or large items that could obstruct views are not allowed.
    • There are no lockers or storage space to secure your personal items. Bags, cameras, phones and flowers/gifts should be left with your family members.
    • Strollers and carriers are not permitted on the Quad.

    Please wear comfortable shoes and dress accordingly as you may be standing for an extended period of time prior to the procession. The Quad is a grass courtyard and will likely be wet in the early morning. It is not recommended to wear high-heel shoes. Also, bring a couple of safety pins to secure your hood to your gown and your tassel to your cap.

    Graduates will process into the Quad according to your major within the eight academic departments of the College: Business and Technology; Education and Language Acquisition; English; Health Sciences; Humanities; Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science; Natural Sciences; and Social Science.

  • Portraits


    Thornton Studio will be taking graduation portraits during cap-and-gown distribution from Monday, June 13 through Thursday, June 16 in the LaGuardia gym. See cap-and-gown distribution dates and information above.



    If you are unable to make the dates listed above, reserve your time now using the school code listed below to have your portraits taken at Thornton Studio. The photographers will have only a cap and gown for you to wear during the shoot. You may bring your honors regalia and other props.
