The required courses were chosen in part so that students majoring in any of the three largest degree programs of the AMS Department (AS in Business Administration, AAS in Business Management and AAS in Accounting) can participate in the program.
*This requirement may also be fulfilled by taking MAT200 or MAT201 instead of MAT120.
** These courses are the AMS electives which will be offered in Fall I 2007 to fulfill the 3 course AMS elective requirement of the program. Additional AMS elective courses may be offered in the future at the discretion of the AMS Department.
Current students who have already taken any of these courses, or new students who have transfer credit for any of these courses, can substitute other honor courses at the discretion of the program director. In addition, students who do not want to participate in the full honors program can still take individual honors courses.
Admittance to the Honors Program Concentration as a full-time student (exceptions allowed) is based on a minimum GPA of 3.2 and 12 credits completed, or a B+ (85) or above high school average. Also required is an application essay on the applicant’s educational goals, and an interview with the director of the program. The latter two requirements are not necessary for students who are only registering for individual honors courses without completing the full program requirements.
