Federal Work Study

The Federal Work Study Program offers you an opportunity to gain valuable work experience that will enhance your skills and future job search.  If you have received a Federal Work Study award, be sure to come to Student Financial Services (C-107) or call 482-5935 and sign up for a FWS Orientation/Placement Workshop.  Don’t let your FWS award go to waste.  Please note the following FWS guidelines:

v      FWS students must be registered for at least 6 credits per semester, be matriculated and in good academic standing.

 v      All wages earned during intersession will be subject to FICA withholding.

v      FWS students are responsible for monitoring their earnings.  No student should exceed his/her hours.

v      FWS students who will graduate at the end of Fall 2008 semester must stop work by December 11, 2008 (Session I) and February18, 2009  (Session II)the last days of Fall I & II 2008 classes.

 v      All FWS time sheets must be forwarded to the Office of Student Financial Services in C-316 by the due date.


ON-CAMPUS

Freshmen or first-time awardees must attend a workshop with the Federal Work Study Coordinator for a job placement. All returning awardees who wish to work at the old site must confirm their position by first contacting the site supervisor. A student changing work location can either e-mail the new site supervisor by clicking on the name in the appropriate box or call the site for inquiry.
You must call 718-482-5935 to reserve a seat for the workshops.
