Registration
Spring
classes begin on Sunday, March 4, 2007.
Students can find eSIMS
on the LaGuardia home page by clicking on the blue Register box in the lower left corner. They can then select eSIMS "Spring Sign In" on the next page, then on the eSIMS home page type your Student ID for ID and PIN number for PIN,
or
students can use the following URL: http://esims.cuny.edu/NotLoggedInServlet?CurrentCommand=CollegeProcess&CollegeCode=LG.
Click the eSIMS web registration icon, then click on "eSIMS log in", select "LaGuardia", click "Submit", then type your Student ID for ID and PIN number for PIN.
New students will receive their Personal Identification Number at the time they come to campus for new student orientation, advisement and registration.
The PIN is not changed, except by the student. If you need your PIN reset, visit the Registrar's Office in C-107 with a valid picture ID. You will receive a temporary PIN that should be changed to a number that only you can remember.
You will receive a specific appointment date and time to begin registration.
Check your NetMail (student e-mail), DegreeWorks, or eSIMS. You may visit the Registrar's Office (C-107) or call 718-482-5242 or email ONLINEREG@lagcc.cuny.edu . You can also check eSIMS using the Registration option. Your registration date and time will be displayed under the appropriate semester.
eSIMS
will be available from 7:30am to 11:30pm weekdays, 8:30am-4:30pm Saturday and 8:30am-11:30pm Sunday starting November 20.
All students must register online using eSIMS.
Continuing students register online (eSIMS) at home, at the public library, or at one of the College's open computer labs. You are encouraged to attend an eSIMS workshop so that you are prepared to use eSIMS. Check your NetMail for workshop information.
New students will be invited to register on campus by appointment and will receive assistance in learning how to use eSIMS. Students will be expected to complete their own registration.
1. Override a prerequisite or corequisite stop - see academic department.
2. Overtally a closed course section. Look for an open section of the same course. If needed, then visit the academic department.
3. Overload - enroll in more than 18 credits in Session I and more than 8 credits in Session II - see Academic Affairs Office (M400).

Academic advisors, faculty and staff will be available on campus to assist students with advisement. Continuing students are expected to register themselves.

All college offices and phones will be very busy during the registration period, so if you are experiencing difficulty in reaching an office, please be patient and try back later.
If you have a stop or hold,
contact the office that placed the hold on your record. If a course is
closed, you need to choose another section of the course, or another
course. You will NOT be referred to the academic department. If you are
uncertain what course to take, refer to the on-line
Catalog and review the requirements for each degree at the beginning
of the Catalog.
If you cannot log-on, reboot your computer and carefully retry the
sign-on.
Check your NetMail for Saturday Hours.
YES. You can change your program without penalty prior to March 5th.
Starting March 5th, there is an $18 fee for each change of program (Add or Replace a course). The change of program feature will be available throughout the eSIMS registration period and through the fourth day of classes.
When using eSIMS to process a change, be certain to use the Take and Replace option instead of the Drop and Add keys to prevent unnecessary tuition liability charges.
You can check your schedule at any time. A
deleted course will not appear on your schedule.
You will also be sent a NetMail notification of a cancelled course.
You can then go into eSIMS to add another section or course. Please remember to print your Course schedule

1. Register for the pre- or co-requisite course and plan on taking the next course in the next semester.
2. If you believe that you have met the pre- or co-requisite, visit the respective academic departmental office.
A book voucher is a credit to your account to purchase required text books and supplies at the college's bookstore.
You must have an available PELL credit after tuition and fee charges have been applied to your bill. For additional information, please visit C-107.
You will have to repay a portion of your financial aid
and you will lose TAP for the following semester.

All students are encouraged to seek academic advisement .
Advisement is required for students with less than 30 credits, in unsatisfactory academic standing or are students in special program and selected majors. If you have earned more than 30 credits, you can register for courses, beginning with your registration appointment date and time.
Print out your schedule and tuition bill. Verify that you are enrolled in the correct courses. Please settle any balance due with the Bursar by the due date to avoid course cancellation.
You need to go back online a day or two before classes begin to ensure that none of your classes have been cancelled and to check the location of your courses.
Payment for Spring 2007 Session I can be made immediately after registering. Payment MUST be made by close of business on Thursday, February 22nd, 2007.
It is possible for advanced standing students to register for more than 18 credits during the 12-week semester. However, you will need special permission from the Division of Academic Affairs Room M403.
You can use any internet enabled computer. On campus visit the open computer labs. Off campus visit any public library.
eSIMS reflects the most accurate information, whereas the CUNY and LaGuardia websites are refreshed only once every 90 minutes.
MasterCard, Discover, Visa and American Express credit card payments for the full tuition liability are accepted. Credit card payment can be made in person at MB55, or over the web (e-SIMS).

After dropping the course on the registration screen, go to
your schedule; the course should not appear on your schedule. If it does,
you did not delete it properly; try again.
The hours of operation are:
Monday-Thursday : 8:00am - 07:00pm
Friday : 8:00am - 04:00pm
Check your NetMail for additional hours during registration.
The hours of eSIMS are:
Monday-Friday : 7:30am - 11:30pm
Saturday : 8:30am - 04:30pm
Sunday : 8:30am - 11:30pm
New students are invited to orientation/advisement/registration after they have submitted all admission documents, immunization forms and completed all placement tests.
Continuing students should see an advisor as early in the academic semester as possible to clarify any questions that they may have regarding course planning and registration. Students should access DegreeWorks to learn the name and location of their advisors.
