About Me

Santiago de Compostela Cathedral (Spain)

I was born in 1978 in Santiago de Compostela, La Coruna. It is one of the provinces in the Northwest corner of Spain that make up the region of Galicia. I was raised in a town called Noia until I came to the United States in 1985 and have resided here ever since. I knew at an early age that I had been born with artistic talents which helped spark my vigorous love of art. Being artistically gifted is something that can never be taken away. There is no greater satisfaction than to take a plank piece of material and creating something that can spark emotions in another human being or creating something in which you can share your inner thoughts without uttering a single word. It is a science of connection. I like all periods of art history, from the great masters of the renaissance such as Michelangelo to the more contemporary master of the modern age such as Picasso. Most artists enjoy listening to jazz or blues while creating their art. I'm a bit more unorthodox when it comes to that. I like to enjoy rock music while I paint such as Guns N' Roses, Godsmack and grunge era bands like Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Pearl Jam  it helps me convey more energy into my work. I hope you enjoy the rest of the E-Portfolio.

Displayed below are some photos of my town in Spain with a brief description:

Iglesia de San Martin, Noia                                             Iglesia de Santa Maria a Nova, Noia
In 2004, while digging new ground to extend the cemetery plot next to Santa Maria a Nova, the excavators found an unbelievable discovery. A medieval cemetery was found under the old church. Santa Maria a Nova was constructed in the early 14th century hence helping to decipher the date of the tombs. On each tomb cover, the excavators did not find the inhabitants name nor date of birth and death, but a carving of their trade. On the large stones were carvings of shoes, anchors, horseshoes, etc. Santa Maria a Nova has now been turned from a church into a museum to exhibit the rich history of the Town.
