Tutoring rules and agreements:
1- Review tutor contract (student’s willingness in filling out the surveys) with each student during their first session to establish the parameters of the tutoring relationship.

3- Provide the SSC supervisory staff a weekly schedule in the beginning of each semester.
4- Tutors must commit to work at least one semester and are encouraged to stay longer if possible.
5- All tutors are expected to honor the term of their commitment. Each tutor should inform the supervisory staff at least 24 hours and one week in advance if he/she is not able to keep the schedule or need to change the semester schedule respectively.

Role and Responsibilities:The Pre-College Academic Programming Department offers courses that prepare students to enter college, earn a high school diploma or start a career. PCAP collaborates with many departments in the Division of Adult and Continuing Education to facilitate student access to academic and career training programs. In 2006, PCAP successfully implemented the Bridge to College and Careers Program, a groundbreaking approach to High School Equivalency preparation that provides an educational and career pathway for adults and out-of-school youth. Students prepare for the HSE exam and develop a plan to successfully transition to postsecondary training and college. Coursework explores topics in healthcare, science or business and develops academic reading, writing and math skills in preparation for college and employment in one of these three areas. This approach is called contextualized instruction. Hours: 20/week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 1-6pm)

• Strive for Success is a peer mentoring college advisement program at CUNY Colleges. Graduates of the LINCT Pre-College Program or students from participating Community Based Organization who matriculate into one of seven CUNY partner colleges receive academic advisement as they progress towards their associates and bachelor’s degrees.
