The Divisions of Enrollment Management & Student Development and Academic Affairs invite you to participate in a powerful and stimulating program that offers training in leadership skills, and diversity awareness training. The workshops are designed to enhance your classroom and total college experience, while you complete your academic course work. You will be part of a conversation with faculty, staff and peers that develops your personal and professional skills. This dialogue will awaken in you, thoughts and goals that you never knew existed. Your time on campus and sense of community will be enriched.

Know Thy Self    Friday, March 3rd, 2008

What do you need to do if you want to be sure you the best spiritual, mental, and physical health? This workshop will provide a self-actualization process for each participant, at their own pace and comfort level.

Leadership 101:Discovering Your Leadership Style* Friday, March 21st, 2008

Our life experience as well as genetic programming, inform us of our individual styles. From our choice in clothing, music, and friends, to our behavior in groups, our personalities, view of the world and the experiences we encounter, shape who we are. This workshop is intended to give participants an opportunity to self-assess what their leadership tendencies are, use their strengths appropriately, and explore hidden relationship possibilities.

Leadership 102: Leadership Exploration & Development* Friday, March 28th, 2008
 
Few leaders are born… many leaders are made. Join us in “one of life’s required workshops.” Leadership development provides confidence and self-awareness, and develops skills important to the daily challenges we face as individuals. Explore areas such as creating a shared vision, goal setting, managing conflict, handling ethical dilemmas, initiating change, empowering others, and team building.

Identity and Perception* Friday, April 4th, 2008
 
This session will encourage participants to engage in issues such as intimacy; gender, racial and sexual identity; and interpersonal competence within and between cultures. Through dialogue and group activity we will motivate each other to "stretch beyond our comfort zones.”

Communicating Across Difference* Friday, April 11th, 2008

The purpose of this activity is to provide participants with the opportunity to explore themes of identity, culture, and the value of personal and group differences in a non-judgmental environment. By defining and then engaging in dialogue, the session focuses on developing an acceptance and respect for people of different cultural or ethnic backgrounds other than one's own. Participants will come to recognize the power and magic in valuing and appreciating how bringing our differences together, creates the possibility of greatness.

Ethical Leadership Friday, May 16th, 2008

Often leaders are faced with difficult ethical decisions that question their leadership ability. This is a chance to explore issues that you might not have considered in the past. Learn how to enhance your skills in creating a sound and principled leadership style, by developing behaviors that match what you say and do with what you believe.

Cost: There are no additional fees to participate in the L & D Workshops
        There are fees associated with the Academic Classes.
