Position:

Assistant to HEO/Administrative Coordinator

Duties:

Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.

- Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.

- Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

- Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.

 - Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.

- Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.

- Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.

- May supervise office staff and student workers.

- Performs related duties as assigned

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

He/she will perform a variety of administrative-related tasks in providing operational support to the areas of Enrollment Management. Some functions may include, but may not be necessarily limited to, monitoring departmental and divisional strategic plan, consolidating and preparing enrollment funnel reports with conversation rates, conducting research and assisting in assessment reports, planning and coordinating meetings, workshops, conferences, and other events. Providing general information about the division of Enrollment Management and Student Development and assistance as needed in departments within Enrollment Management.

As a member of Enrollment Management, he/she will work as a member of an operating team and will interact with colleagues and/or other internal/external members of the college in the planning and implementation of projects and in the execution of assigned projects and tasks, under the guidance of the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Services.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Two years of experience in higher education or other customer-service related field preferred. Possess excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills and a strong proficiency with MS office application programs; Crystal Reports and SIMS knowledge is a plus. The position requires strong organizational skills, ability to work independently as well as perform as a team member in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a rich and diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities. Experience working in a community with a similar diversity pattern as is found at LaGuardia Community College is desirable.

Salary:

$35,576 - $36,965
