    Alumni who have graduated more than one year ago must become an Alumni Member of the College. You can request membership by visiting the Alumni Affairs office in Room M-116. Membership is open to students who have completed 12 credits towards their Associate Degree or have completed the academic requirements for the Associate Degree of the College.     Don’t Cancel That Class

    It is offered to faculty who know, in advance, that they cannot attend a specific class session. In lieu of students missing a session, a career advisor or an employment specialist will lead a discussion on a specific topic during the regularly scheduled class. The goal of each is to foster lifelong skills that can be utilized both in the classroom setting and in the workplace. Contact Jessica Perez at jeperez@lagcc.cuny.edu at least 3 weeks in advance.


    • Career Talk: Uncover occupations that match your interests to move forward with your career decision-making process.
    • Professional Pitch: Learn to market yourself to employers in 30 to 60 seconds.
    • Ace That Interview: Discuss the do’s and don’ts for a successful interview.
    • Introduction to CCPD services and web-based tools: (Career Connect, Career Coach, eCareer Plan, Vault and more!) .
    • Resume Writing: Learn about the structure and sections of a winning resume. Make your resume work for you – impress employers and get interviews.
    • Cover and Thank You Letter Writing: Tips on developing cover and thank you letters that stand out from the crowd.

    The Center for Career & Professional Development staff is also available to conduct presentations for the classes you teach and the student organizations you advise, about job search tools, career and major selection, or a topic of your choice..
